Basketball teams getting geared for another season

The basketball season is right around the corner, actually exhibition play starts Thursday with the men's team taking on Mesa State.


Men's coach Dick Hunsaker said he had things ready to go as far as starters before practice today but after a pratice where everything went wrong he said he wasn't sure how the starters would shake out.
I'm sure he has it but wasn't willing to discuss it. I think it will shape up like this on Thursday

Point guard—Josh Olsen

Shooting guard—Ryan Toolson

Small forward—Richard Troyer, who Hunsaker said is making the transition to small from power forward.

Power forward—Jordan Brady

Center—Joe Walker

We will see how close it is.

On the women's side
Cathy Nixon had her team doing some kind of scrimmage with refs and all today. Both Nixon and the assistant stopped the scrimmage a number of times to give instruction. The women's first exhibition game is Friday.
